French Onion Soup Recipe

Serving Size : 4
Preparation Time :0:25

Ingredients:
1 can beef broth
1 1/2 cups water
5 onions
4 slices Swiss cheese
4 slices toast
2 tablespoons margarine

Put margarine in a frying pan and cook at a medium heat until it gets good and hot. Add onions that have been sliced into quarter inch thick ringlets. No need to separate them, they will do so of their own accord when they are frequently stirred by you to keep them from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

When the onions have softened up, you can move them to a big soup pan. Add water and beef broth. Let stew on a low heat setting for as long as you like.

When you are ready to serve, toss a piece of toast into a bowl. Put a piece of cheese on top of that, and ladle soup over all of that.
