Proscuito al Twirly Noodles

4 slices ham
2 tablespoons margarine
2 tablespoons flour
2 dashes pepper
1 cup milk
1/8 cup parmesan cheese
1/3 cup peas
1 package pasta

Cut ham slices into small pieces. Toss into frying pan on medium heat. When they have been thoroughly warmed shove them to the side of the pan. Add margarine. When it has melted add flower. Make sure that all of the flower is made damp by the margarine. When you have succeeded with this task without burning the contents of the pan, add milk, peas, pepper, cheese. Stir until the contents thicken. This will not take very long.

Now, while you were doing all of this, you should have also been working on boiling some water in a good sized pan. When the water is boiling, add noodles and stir occasionally until the noodles are done. You can use any kind of noodles that you want, from those twirly ones down to macaroni or penne or even spaghetti. In any case, when the noodles are done strain - don't grunt when you do this as it is unbecoming a real man who is not actually performing a strenuous physical task.

Dump strained noodles in with the sauce, stir.

Suggested Beer: Dos Equiis - I know it's not Italian, but if it tastes right, go with it.

Serving Ideas : This can be one of those stand alone dishes.
